smtp authentication for 3.0.x

hi there,

my host has changed the settings so that when emails are being sent it authenticates via server smtp. So my 3.0.7 emails are being bounced back.

Would appreciate if anyone can create a mod for this.!!

I dont mind paying a small fee if required.
