Did the templates get reverted some how? Did you try reimporting the styles xml and choosing overwrite?

Doing that will reset any template changes that you have made, if any are still left..

You can test this out by creating a copy of the style and working on that one! Make sure it has no parent style

Name it like "fix style" so you dont get the 2 confused!

If you do that last part you can at least try to fix it without really breaking anything
