vb.org Archive - View Single Post - "Remember Me" does What?

I have read a bunch of posts about 'to keep users signed on click re:'
'how to code so always checked'
'when they log out, they are remembered and don't have to login'
'make sure cookie stuff set to default'
'don't block cookies'
etc.

How is this intended to actually work?
Then, is in 3.6.5 is it session level or does it persist between sessions?

Can't really find that info. if there could you give me a link
