I did find one issue was resolved, and that was the weird issue of getting a random forum's description at the top of the post report page when reporting.

The "View New Posts" etc is really starting to PO my users pretty bad

so if/when you have a chance, can you look at it again? The issue is that after the thread gets a little past 2 pages (though sometimes it even happens on the first page) those links take you one page too far and so you see nothing at all, just the group description.

Also, I wondered how many threads show on the group home page? All of them? I have groups with tons of threads, and they've yet to get a page 2 or anything so I wondered when/if that happens.
