Default Simple BBCODE support for FLV (possibly WMV) Video?

Hello folks ...

I'm a new guy to this and we use Vbulletin to support a hobby group we have up here in Canada. It's really helped us communicate and enjoy our chosen hobby more.

My question is simple. By reading the mods section, I already managed to figure out how to add YouTube in-line (within a post) code to play videos (.FLV files I think?). It was pretty simple to follow the instructions and add BBCODE support for a [youtube] [/youtube] option to support videos from their (YouTube's) site.

Now, I want to have something similar to add general support to play FLV (flash?) videos in-line within posts and perhaps even WMV files if that can be done. We have our own server to stream video privately from and I'm able to set up the standard HTTP:// URL approach, but it opens a new window for MS Player (WMV files). I'd like to keep the video window within the post so it's cleaner and easier for the user.

I also notice that WMV files seem to take a long time to "buffer" and get started playing, where as the YouTube files seem to start pretty quick and buffer slightly ahead of playing video.

So, can anyone point me to the same simple BBCODE add-on that let's me play videos of these two types (.FLV and .WMV) within posts of Vbulletin threads? I guess you can forget the WMV support if it's not going to be as fast starting up and playing, with all of the delayed buffering, so perhaps we're just talking BBCODE for FLV support.

My apologies for the naivity of this post, but with my minimal experience with Vbulletin, I figure if I don't ask I'll spend far too many hours trying to become a programmer, which I'd rather be spending on using the product on our hobby.

If you'd rather send email, I can be reached at badger@milsurps.com

Thanks for listening....

Regards,
Badger
