In the Arcade Settings in the AdminCP>Arcade you will find a drop down option of setting the interface to v3arcade if you would like. I agree, and I have mine set to the v3 style.

everything has went fine during the install process, except the very last step.

Personally, when I am doing template modifications like this doing the FIND/REPLACE/ADD/WHATEVER steps, I often have problems too and I take a part of the FIND bit the author mentions and then compare and see if what I "found" is what they mention. Cuz alot of times the only difference is a SPACE or something else really simple that causes the issue of not finding a match.

So for this particular thing, I would do a search for calendar.php every time it appears I'd visually look over that bit of code/html and see if it matches what the author is referring to. If you do that, I'm sure you will quickly be able to complete this installation.
