Is there a hack that would display postcount differently? What I mean is, instead of showing the actually number, show it like this:

10+
100+
500+
1000+
5000+
10000+
20000+

What would be nice about this change, too, is that we could associate icons or badges to the various "levels."

No, it wouldn't take attention away from postcount, per se... but it would change the dynamic a bit in an interesting way.
