vb.org Archive - View Single Post - I've added CMPS but I've been told it's a bad idea

Some responses about having CMPS on my system from vbulletin.com has me worried, they say it's a bad idea because it makes it near impossible to upgrade vbulletin to newer versions when there are addons like CMPS. They told me they were warning me now so I don't have to learn the hard way like they did.

They also said by having add ons, to upgrade you basically have to start from scratch and in the process pretty much lose everything.

What's this all about? Please help. I'm a newbie and a bit worried now. I'd like to have the CMPS portal system on my site but I just don't know now.
