As a webmaster and programmer, I hate GoDaddy, too. I only ever use them for when I need a cheap domain.

TigerTech.net has phenominal technical support (I've been with them over 3 years now and have over 50 sites hosted through them). They respond quickly to all requests and have gone so far as to debug code I wrote when I thought it was a problem with the server.
