Webmail is something that has been asked for over several years now and neither JelSoft or a third party has really come through with. HiveMail had a great start but is long since dead. Gossamer Threads looks like it has potential but is VERY expensive. There was/is another - vMail or vbMail or something like that that works with 3.5.x put lacked a lot of features. The only full blown email system (and by that I mean a system that uses the vBulletin user database and allows you to give an email account at the same domain as the forum as well as send/receive from within the application itself) was SocketMail. The problem there is that SocketMail has been claiming for almost 2 years that vB integration was in the next release. It is a great stand alone email system with a good web interface and even a POP3/SMTP daemon that does not require root (think shared server ISP). There is no vB integration though. They (I think there is 1, maybe 2 developers in India) are running into problems as of late and are months behind. I honestly do not think we will ever see vB integration from SocketMail - and even if we do, it is unlikely that they will develop to stay up with the newest vB releases.
So at this point the floor is wide open. I for one would be willing to pay for a commercial product (I paid for SocketMail and 2 years of renewals and still do not have a working product). Anyone out there up to the task?
