While it might be a good resource to have a style that walks you through it, I highly suggest creating a new style, and just start putzing around. By changing different things, you can see how the templates interact with the script, and get a better idea of how to do the custom changes you're looking for. A basic template tutorial might not work exactly for what you're doing.

It really isn't as crazy as you think Just start changing little things here and there to see what stuff is where.
