As you noted the logo needs some work. The portal page is very stock so far but as you work on this site this will likely improve.

I like the colors and having several options is a nice touch, especially so early in development. Keep an eye on how some of the color combos lay out, the dark text on the red background does not sit well with my eyes.

The forum still has default icons, you should focus on getting the graphics updated to something more custom. The buttons look different but still feel very stock, you will want to get these updates as the rest of the site grows.

You have a lot of forums for a very small community. Some forums, like "Site Junkyard" probably should be dropped while others should be merged until the community grows more.
