vb.org Archive - View Single Post - Can someone point me to the porting of old hacks rules?

i'm sure i saw a thread here once before about when it's acceptible to port an older hack in which has been abandoned... i can't find it. i've replied in the threads and PM'd the coder without success. this coder has been online and viewing the thread and read my PM's. so when is it ok do take over the port or is it just not allowed at all?
