I think we discovered this was due to vB.. it parses stuff in tags when html is enabled for a forum.

At a guess, it could possibly be excluded from those tags, but I am somewhat buried in a pile of horrible stuff at the moment, so can't commit to looking into it for some time.

Anyone who does have the time, feel free to collaborate.
