It's likely they're getting a lot of CPM ads with their traffic level and thus making money without clicks.

I've worked for several sites in the past that used Adsense earning about 5k a month off of 3m impressions. Money Making Hint: Use your archive.

Of course when we started moving those sites from networks like Adsense to private label PPC ads and advertisers, the earnings go up, way up. If you're in a good niche, with a good brand and the right sales force, you can pull in CPM rates of $5, $10, $20 or more.
