i dont know what happened but its back now. weird.

Also during the same time i had a new user write me to tell me he couldnt make an account as it put him in the same login loop over and over.

One setting i did change was I added the one that requires a new user to reply to an email on registration. I wonder if that messed me up as a old user who never got an email?

the whole thing was very stressfull and strange
