Remember that only a small fraction of these jobs have any problems. Many community owners would be lost without the forum... do you guys have any idea how hard it is for them to find coders to do vbulletin modifications?
There are what... 10-15 well known coders that everyone (who is active here) knows takes custom jobs. They are nearly always busy. The other few thousand guys will be SOL.
Other freelance sites do offer more protection, but then you are hiring people who probably know little or nothing about vBulletin to do it instead of people who specialize in it.
Do your research before hiring. Don't take it out on the community by removing the forum.

Thats why I said in my post above, "allow them to use a
signature link" that leads to there own sites. So people can still find hacks for sale that way in there signatures, but then it takes people away to
THERE own site so vB.org are not involved in any discussion about the paid hacks and services there offering, and it dealt with well away from here.
Maybe thats not a perfect solution to the problem, but it better than whats happening now.
