On one of my sites, the members wanted to be able to post things for sale, but promised to only discuss sales via PM. I veto'd the idea because I would feel responsible (on some level) if a sale went bad... So some other members set up a board where they could buy, sell, and trade. To date, I haven't heard of any problems so I'm glad it's working for them.

Here at vB.org, I've only had the one bad experience posted above, but I've been around long enough to read of other misc problems. For vB.org, it's a sticky situation to be in, for sure.
