I haven't had much javascript experience, but near as i can tell it looks for images that start with 'mq_' and from there runs the functions.

What i want is that instead of an image its a textlink. Once you click it becomes bold to indicate that its part of the multi-quote.

I got the part working where it updates the class, but it only works if i click the image, not the text.

Any ideas on what i could do?
