should be pretty straight forward doing it through CSS. I did a few different variations on my site, with no knowledge at all, just a bunch of trial-and-error. The hardest part I found was not actually changing the colours, but making sure all the buttons and all that were correct. That was also quite easy, just tedious. I found the best way to do it is to find a button set in the graphics forum and go from there, or you can just change your style and add some neutral buttons.
