Can't find function which halts script prompting user for y/n

I have looked all over for a function which is similar to adminfunction 'print_stop_message' but usable outside the admincp.

What I want to do is prompt the user to click yes and script continues, or click no and browser goes back to script which executed the prompt.

Does such a function already exist?
