In addition to my standard VB, I would like to run a second instance of VB on the same server (with another license, of course). However, I want this second VB to function as a standalone member database--which is to say, the actual forum on this would not function. The reason for this is that in addition to the forum for my website, I also require a seperate member directory for users to enter personal information unrelated to their forum accounts (For the sake of being anonymous on the boards, the forum accounts cannot be used to store this info).

I had hoped to find a standalone member directory software elsewhere that I could use, but I'm not having much luck and thus I'm wondering if it would be possible to use VB in it's place.

So, would creating a "stripped down" member-directory-only version of vBulletin be possible, and if so, how? Said directory would need to allow members to register, search the database, edit their own profiles, and perhaps send private messages (but this isn't necessary).
