in regards to your gradients and getting them to work, prefix each image in your css with a forward-slash.

i.e.
#FFFFFF url(images/kirsch/gradients/background.jpg) repeat

become
#FFFFFF url(/images/kirsch/gradients/background.jpg) repeat
