I hadn't actually heard of a free version. This is a total guess, but I'd say "free" = "illegal".

Flashchat's official page has a support forum that's great.

Paul M coded the integration mods. The first one is here, and the second one (for the What's Going On box) is here.

One possibility with having the chat in a forum-style page would be to create a custom page through AdminCP.
