It works! It really works! I just installed this yesterday and today I've already noticed a jump in new user registrations! Thanks!

I can't help with the gap below the navbar (that may require some style-specifc tweaking) but I noticed the same missing gap below $welcomemessage and fixed it by simply adding a <br/> like so:
