Default external.php output based on logged in users permissions
Our site is based around shtml pages and we pull in dynamic content using a variety of ways. We currently use a modified version of external.php and some javascript to pull in the latest thread titles based on the logged in users permissions/cookie. Without the mod we made the only threads that would be displayed are those that are viewable by guests.

Unfortunately the easy mod we made is now not possible so we are stuck with v3.0.15 because losing that functionality would take too much away from our site.

Anyway we need a new external.php hack that will allow the output of the latest thread titles to be based on the cookie/permissions of the logged in user and not always based on the guest login which is pretty useless under most circumstance.

Any help is greatly appreciated guys and girls.
