vb.org Archive - View Single Post - Display "You have x unread posts" on external page

I'm using the vBulletin login system for our webbased manual. To increase trafic on the forum I want to display a note at the top of each manual page if the user has unread posts in the forum.

How do I find the number of unread posts (in forums the user has permision to see) a logged in user has?

If it is easier I can settle for "You have unread posts in the forum".
