Most of members are happy with this hack. Noone reported that "Cyb wiped something".

Which version you used before 2.4?
Did you upgraded properly?
Be noted that from v2.0 (Aug 07. 2006.) rules are stored in settings.
Always read release notes.

You must not use anything released here.
