I've searched for ages around here, but found nothing like this. What I am looking for is a mod that will take certain actions based on the registration IP of a new user.

I get a lot of spam postings from users signing up in China and India, Russia etc. I've already got the image verification, email verification switched on, but there are a still a few that persist.

If I were able to put new registrations from certain countries (or any that did not match a list of countries) into a usergroup I could then apply other restrictions.

For example, if someone registered from China then I could configure it so that their posts were moderated. If the user turns out to be legitimate (very rare) then I could simply remove them from the group that required all posts to be moderated.

The only tricky part of this mod would be to initially place these users into a group after registration, everything else could be done with standard VB features.

Ideas anyone?
