I'd agree that the overuse of the green is a little to much. I would use possibly a light grey/grey gradient for the thead just so it breaks out the green.

I would also replace the default images though you did say the design part is still left to do.

I would also give the logo a more prominant feel as it looks very crammed in the corner were it was placed.

Personally, I would go with a different colour then green. Goodluck with your site though.
