For example, I know a vBulletin board where there's a forum and whenever a thread is created, it shows the thread title and first post text on an external webpage (not part of vBulletin) then has a link to view the additional replies and shows how many there are, etc.

I've done several searches with terms such as 'news', 'portal', etc and can't seem to find anything.

Is there a MOD like that? I've looked at a couple of MODs and none of them seem to do exactly what I described. The owner of that forum says he hacked it in himself but he's also said that about other things which I have discovered are available in the vb.org modification database.

So anyway, here's the MODs I've looked at and don't think they will do exactly what I wanted - just incase you were going to recommend them:
