At my site Dealscans I have a method in place that will automatically create a thread (if not already created) in the forums when a user clicks a link.

What I would like to do, is take the user to a "reply" like page, where they enter their response, and when the user submits the reply, it creates both the thread and the user posted response.

Is there any way to do this? Would I need to make a modified reply page that passes the user text to another script which creates the thread, and then uses that threadid for the reply?
