Yes, I'm gonna make a nice layout switcher in next release.
And it would be the same exact amount of changes if only reply is required. That is because all of those changes are to cover various parsing areas. The parses itself is just a plugin that is stored in one single location.

How di I remove this an start all over?

You remove the stuff from functions.php... Or even restore the default vb functions.php
