To stop certain forums showing on the new posts search, use

Code:

search.php?do=getnew&exclude=[high]X,Y,Z[/high]

where [high]X,Y,Z[/high] are the forumid numbers of the forums you do not want to be included in the search. You will need to change the link to include the exclude section in your navbar template.
