OK, how do you alter the main table width to 100%? I noticed that at 1024X768 my full width logo is fine, but at 800X600 it is too large with a fair bit of space on the left/right side of the main...

Getting that font is the real problem, scales nice and is crisp as well. This is the nearest I could get. May be you need to get all buttons changed to same font.

This works with 2.2.2 no problem, I changed two of the templates to get the effect below. I also sorted the error with the .gif image but you will need to check your own path and choice of image.
