first of all: 3 extra queries per page is a lot dude. However, I guess you could use a cronjob once a minute to cache the results.

But still that would use a lot of extra memory/size per page.

However, SocialForums is just a bad mod. It might be usefull, but it totally ++++s up the forum cache, and puts way too much load on the server.

I think that is more important than sticky threads.

It's nice, but have a look at class_image.php and class_upload.php in the includes folder. You could probably integrate it better into the vbulletin system with modifying these classes.

I like forums for social groups, but if you do it with regular forums you will totally blow up forums cache (datastore).

On (semi-)large forums this will be disastrous (even with the limitations)...
