Quick Launch can be enabled as a toolbar in Windows 7.
It's not exactly the same as Vista / XP because it is a toolbar,...

I gave the new style taskbar a couple of days but didn't like it.
I've also enabled the quick launch. I find the quick launch easier to work with.
