Alternating category backgrounds

Hey all,

Using vB 3.0.7 and just wondering how I use a second background image in my cateogory scripts, so that it's alternating (same as alt1 and alt2).

Any help would be much appriciated =)

How does vBulletin know to show alt1 instead of alt2 on the showthread?

For example, the way I've got my styles now is that one post is shown in dark red, whilst the next one is shown in medium...

Is there anyway to make this work for Guest users...

Is there anyway to make this work for Guest users but it stops slowing down when they click register?

For example, if a banned member is viewing the forum as a guest, i'd like that slowed down......
