This did not work for me as it conflicted with another plugin (VsaBanners). I see other's had the same problem but with other plugins.

The fault is not with this plugin but with the other plugins...

You have to change the product xml first though to allow the version.
When viewing a user's permissions etc, select "log in as user" from the drop down.
