That's all done through the admin panel. You need to give permission to the usergroup 'Guests' to view the forums. It's done through Forums & Moderators > Forum Permissions I believe.

Is your website hosted on your own box or do you pay for hosting? If you pay, I wouldn't think you should have access to /usr/local as opposed to /home

OK, I recently did some modifications to replacement variables, and I pretty much wiped my postbit clean and redid it completely... I think that's about all I did since this started happening though....
