It seems all this hack changed was adding this error. I see no other changes.

Ok when I upgraded to 3.5 the custom avatars stopped working:

Yes I have 3.5 Gold and custom avatars do not show up on the showthread page... they show up on the profiles though.

Why don't avatars show up on the showthread pages?

I did, I updated their battle types to potions and spells, respectively, and they still do not work in battle.
when you use them it says "[character] tries to use Hi-Potion, but it has no effect"
