Problem with forum theme after updating to 4.1.8

I just recently discovered this problem with vbulletin and gets annoying and i'm hoping someone can help.

It's similar to this guy's issue but i'll try to explain it a bit better....

I've done all that already, running my kind of site you have to edit the forum permissions for each user group outside of the groups own settings. No one has access to the admin section of the site...
