Before 4.2 I had a nav tab for a chat room. I used a hook to display the number of users in the chat room in the tab's template. For example, the tab would say "Chat: 8" if 8 people were logged in....

I think it would be useful if the user list in the "What's Going On?" area was sorted by last activity instead of alphabetical. A lot of forums sort it like this, and it's weird that vBulletin...
