This does not resolve the polls issue. I am guessing the two are somehow interfering with each other. If the primary poll were disabled, the sidebar poll might work.

it does not work in Firefox due to the JavaScript window.onload event not working properly in Firefox. All other browsers okay.

This is a major bug and I cannot use this mod until it is fixed.

Installed in V3.8.4, the sidebar poll does not...

Installed in V3.8.4, the sidebar poll does not display poll results or register votes. It also cripples voting in the normal thread poll. Normal thread poll works okay when sidebar is disabled.
