Making birthdate required on registration?

Is it possible to make the birthday field a required field upon registration?

If you have have text that does not wrap below your picture then it will mess up like I posted.

Hey, i've tried but I am unsuccessful at making my text wrap around my picture instead of just putting it on the line below.
