I think vB.org should have a way to tell if a user is a legitimate owner of vbulletin (that everyone can see) so people can know whether or not to help them or just ignore/report the post.

Well, you could *in theory* install 2 copies of vbulletin in the same database with each having a seperate prefix (ex: vb_ and vb2_) then just search and replace all of the calls for the user table...

YourSite.com/redirect.php?link=RedirectLink.com

and have it redirect them in 5 seconds after...
