upgrading from 3.6.8 to 3.7.0

Is it possible to upgrade straight from 3.6.8 to 3.7.0?

or do I have to do 3.6.8 to 3.6.9 and then 3.6.9 to 3.7.0

I have downloaded the 3.7.0 and I am about to go through the upgrade procedure...

On my forum (might be related to theme) there is a line to seperate the post from the footer/signature but the user signature is too close to the line.

I tried again (with period)

tar -cvzf sitesfiles.tar.gz .

and it went through the list of files/folders that it was tar'ing but the last lines were:
