A better alternate is MariaDB (if you can) and Aria tables as this is faster.

4.2.3 also has some minor bug fixes.
As vB5 progresses 4.2.3 will be the only version that gets support (or the upcoming 4.2.4)

With vBShout v6.2.11PL1 it was stuck on 'Loading...' and did not work.

I rolled back to 6.2.11 all ok. Me thinks the fix in PL1 has issues

Works for us 4.2.3 (and did on 4.2.2pl4) - probably does not help but I'd guess at a conflict with another plugin

We use PHP 5.6, Apapche 2.4, MariaDb 10.0.20 on Centos 6.6

vB5 does not even have feature parity.
vB5 nice ideas very poorly done.
vB5 is not a way forward for us at this time
