I just tried doing that on my board and it worked perfectly. If you do have YES enabled on
Enable HMTL for News and Enable vBimage code for News then I don't know what the answer is.

How do I get uninstalled hacks out of my CP?

I uninstalled 2 hacks yesterday that I didn't need anymore, while I got all the files, etc. off, when I looked in the Admin CP, there they were on the left hand side.
