Maybe it's because someone tried to access one of the old files, if I recall, I added redirection using htaccess.

Maybe you can do that and avoid users to call for those links.

Maybe you can talk to the guys on vB.org and ask for permission. Also, maybe you can try to create some sort of group with more developers. There seems to be some guys around with knowledge. :p

I have a -400 downloads site and migrated it from LDM into DII. It works in a different way, but basically it does what you need.

Take your time to migrate and plan beforehand.

I did it using the batch importer, after that, I modified each entry's date and dowload count. Now, I only had around 300 so, took me a couple days.

DownloadsII just got competition with vBDownloads v1.0.0 (Lite).
